Meetings (i) Rajasthan Atomic Power Station (RAPS-1&2)
SARCOP 17
LWR Safety Committee 8 RAPS-1&2 underwent Periodic Safety Review
(TAPS-1&2 & KK-1&2) (PSR) as a pre-requisite for renewal of its operating
licence beyond August 2019. Station had submitted
PHWR Safety Committee -1
(RAPS-1&2, MAPS-1&2, NAPS & KAPS- 18 applications for renewal of licence under the Factories
1&2) Act, 1948 and authorization for radioactive waste
disposal/transfer. Based on the outcome of the PSR, the
PHWR Safety Committee-2 licence was extended up to August 31, 2024.
(KGS-1&2, KGS-3&4, RAPS-3&4 & RAPS- 8
5&6) The applications were reviewed by AERB following
PHWR Safety Committee -3 6 multi-tier review process. Review assessment indicated
(TAPS-3&4) that the performance of RAPS-2 w.r.t. nuclear,
IGCAR Safety Committee 6 radiological and industrial safety had been satisfactory.
(RR, CORAL, FRTG, RML &RCL) The results of In-Service Inspections (ISI) were found to
Standing Committee on Reactor Physics 16 be satisfactory and plant is capable for safe operation
(SC-RP) for next five years. Based on the review, station has
planned to replace boiler hairpins. Radioactive effluent
Standing Committee on Control,
Instrumentation & Computer Based Systems 6 discharges remained well below the limits specified
(SCCI & CS) in technical specification. Effective dose to member
of public residing at exclusion zone was well within
Expert Group on Equipment Qualification 2
(EG-EQ) the limit prescribed by AERB (Refer chapter 4 of this
report). Station possesses technical & administrative
