The Board of AERB is the decision making body on policy matters for regulation of nuclear and radiation facilities and
associated activities. The Board of AERB held its ï¬rst meeting of the new year on January 10, 2020. The highlights of the
important activities conducted by AERB during previous quarter(s) and the safety status of the regulated installations were
informed to the Board.All the Board Members welcomed Prof. M. Lakshmi Kantam to her ï¬rst Board meeting.

One position in AERB Board was vacant
since October 2017. Prof. M. Lakshmi Kantam, Dr.
B. P. Godrej Distinguished Professor; from Dept. of
Chemical Engineering, Institute of Chemical
Technology (ICT), Mumbai is appointed as AERB
Board member since January 2020.
Prof. Kantam is the Chairperson, Subject
Expert Committee, Women Scientists Scheme, DST,
GOI and Member, Board of Governors, IIT-
Hyderabad.
She is a recipient of many academic
awards/fellowships including the prestigious
Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy
(FNASc), the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK.
