Advisory Committee on Nuclear and Radiation Safety
Re-Constitution Order No. CH/AERB/COMM/25/2016/19 Dated: October 13, 2016

AERB has developed a large number of regulatory safety documents for regulation of nuclear and radiation facilities over a long period of time. This has been possible through multiple Advisory Committees formed for subject areas (*) for preparation and review of the draft documents. The planned work of preparing the set of regulatory documents has been successfully completed through this process.

A single Advisory Committee on Nuclear and Radiation Safety (ACNRS) is now constituted to provide advise to AERB on generic and specific safety issues concerning the safety of nuclear and radiation installations and any further development I review of regulatory safety documents. The composition of the Committee is as under:

The Committee shall :


  • Advise on generic and specific safety issues concerning the safety of nuclear and radiation installations;

  • Advise on the process of harmonising, revision of the existing and development of new safety regulatory documents. Review of draft of such documents.

  • Examine and advise on any specific matters referred by Chairman, AERB.

  • The committee will meet as often as required.

  • The committee may coopt other experts or constitute working groups to examine specific issues, if necessary.
